PROGRAMME NOTES
Sintel uses the scale of a fantasy journey to make a very personal story. Landscapes and encounters propel the search, but the emotional centre is the bond between two characters. The ending asks us to reconsider the cost of that pursuit. It is a more classical narrative than the other films in this programme, and a reminder that visual spectacle matters most when it changes what a character stands to lose.
